The Škoda Auto Museum was opened in 1995 on the occasion of the centenary of the company’s founding. For its needs, the old production facilities from 1899-1911, which once housed the foundry of Antonín Dobrý and, of course, the company of Messrs. Laurin and Klement, have been adapted very decently and tastefully. The exhibition is divided into several parts. The first one is called 100 years of Škoda and it contains historic cars, supplemented by billboards – copies of photographs from the company archive, which is also part of the museum. The main part of the exhibition changes minimally. The second thematic area is called “Sleeping beauty”, where the visitor can see the cars in an unrenovated state. The last thematic area that can be seen in the Škoda Auto Museum is the “Engine Gallery”, i.e. a show of key units from 1911 (type Sa) to the current three-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1.2 litres.
