Milešovka – Central Bohemian Uplands

Cable cars and peaks Coin no. 081
The highest mountain in the Bohemian Central Uplands (836.6 m) with a breathtaking view of the landscape. At the top there is a meteorological observatory with a lookout tower. Milešovka is rightly called the queen of the Bohemian Central Highlands. It owes this not only to its altitude, but also to its beautiful, conical shape, which rises nobly above the other peaks. With an average wind speed of 8.5 m/s (= 30.5 km/h), the top of the mountain is the windiest place in the Czech Republic, with no wind on average only 8 days a year. It is no coincidence that its German name is “Donnersberg” (“Thunder Mountain”). It is here that the most storms in our territory are recorded.
