Skalnaté Pleso does not have a snowmaking system and the winter season begins a little later than in the foothills, but skiing can be done here until May 15 or longer, which will be appreciated especially by fans of spring skiing. The resort is connected to Tatranská Lomnica by a cable car and downhill slopes of medium difficulty with a total length of 4800 m.
