Staré Hrady Castle and Chateau is located in the Bohemian Paradise, south of Jičín right next to the town of Libáň. Originally a Gothic castle with a Renaissance chateau and a chateau below. It is open all year round, but all three sightseeing circuits are open from April to October. Most of them are dedicated mainly to children, although adults will also appreciate the kind fairy tale and humor.
In the castle and chateau part, there is a sightseeing circuit “How people lived under Emperor Franz Joseph I.” You can see a unique exhibition in our country – merchant shops, a colonial, a coffee shop and the C.K. inn, as they looked in the times of our great-grandmothers. You will also see a Baroque kitchen, a large hunting corridor, a unique bedroom and study, the office of the forester and other attractions, where many thousands of exhibits represent the life of ordinary people, burghers and nobility during the peak of the Habsburg monarchy.
Let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere of a witch fairytale tour. The highest fairy-tale wizard Archibald I, wizards, witches, witches and princesses, devils and devils, ghosts, elves and other strange fairy-tale creatures with even stranger names are already waiting for you impatiently and there are two hundred of them. You will be guided through the sightseeing circuits by living fairy-tale creatures. And you will definitely not be bored with them!
Sightseeing tour “Castle Fairytale Cellars – Back to Fairy Tale I in Time” In the mysterious fairytale cellar, good devils, water sprites, elves and cheerful ghosts have found their home. You will also visit the forest and ice kingdom, a fairytale dungeon, a devil’s and water sprite’s household, the family of the Stari Hrad giant, a large tamed dragon, a palace full of elves and many other surprises.
In the sightseeing tour “Castle Fairytale Attic – Back to the Fairy Tale Through Time II.” You will see the castle attic, full of beautiful things, entwined with old cobwebs. It is inhabited by witches of various categories and real Stari Hrady ghosts, ghosts and also nicely rolled elves. The time machine will take you back to the fairy tale, you will visit the ghost kitchen, the witch’s laundry and soap room, and then you will also see the chamber of the cook Magdalena Háta at the castle.
