In the past, this neo-Gothic church was used right next to the main road from Rajecké Teplice to Rajec. The believers built it 100 years ago on the site of a former cemetery with the help of alms from the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. It was designed by the builder Nicoletty.
At present , however, it serves as a chapel, thanks to the construction of the new modern Church of the Divine Heart of Jesus a few steps away. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin was consecrated on August 15, 1909, the day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, by the then Bishop of Nitra, Viliam Batthyány.
