Imagine an abandoned temple in the rainforest, which is gradually absorbing the surrounding vegetation. Trees grow into the walls, lianas surround defenseless statues… And now imagine that butterflies live happily and fly in such a place. There are hundreds and hundreds of them. And they are the most beautiful butterfly species on our planet! You don’t have to look for such a place in the jungles of South America or far Asia, but right in the center of Prague. That’s Papilonia – the butterfly house of Prague.
Specifically, the stylization of the Papillia environment was inspired by the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, but the butterfly species present come from all over the world – e.g. from the rainforests of Mexico, South America, Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and Australia. For this reason, we maintain a constant temperature of 26 °C and air humidity of 80% throughout the entire 150 m² space.
