Part of the BECHERPLATZ restaurant is the small brewery of Charles IV, which continues the tradition of brewing beer in Karlovy Vary. This tradition began in 1370, when King Charles IV granted the town the title of a royal town with the privilege of brewing beer. This tradition was interrupted for 13 long years after the Charles IV brewery ended production at the plant in Rybáře in 1999.
In the bowels of BECHERPLATZ, Charles IV beer has risen again and you can once again enjoy traditional Karlovy Vary beer directly in the Becherplatz restaurant or in drinks, where you can offer everything that is associated with Charles IV beer.
The Charles IV Brewery produces:
Charles IV light 11° – Pilsner-type beer
Charles IV semi-dark 12° – unfiltered and unpasteurized beer with mild bitterness
Charles IV dark 13° – strong beer
Charles IV Special 15° – even stronger light beer with a longer maturation period
Charles IV. wheat beer – beer with a slightly sour taste
Charles IV Herbal
You can recognize good beer right after the first sip. King Charles IV knew this many years ago. Come and have your (not only) first sip.
