The Brewery Museum was founded in 1959 and is the only and oldest museum of its kind in the world, which is located in the original brewing house. Experts call it the top of the field. The house dates back to 1492 and has been preserved in its original form, so visitors can see a Gothic malt house with a well, a forest for drying malt, a rolling pin, a refrigerator, two-level cellars and the premises of a former tavern. Hundreds of unique exhibits document the history of beer brewing from antiquity to the present. The development of the culture of beer drinking is presented by the exhibition of two pubs – a rural one from the 19th century and a burgher from the beginning of the 20th century. In the immediate vicinity of the Brewery Museum is one of the oldest Pilsen beer halls, Parkán. Its name is derived from its location in the space between the medieval city walls, the so-called parkán.
