The Osówka complex is located within the administrative boundaries of the city of Głuszyca in the Wałbrzych district. It is the most interesting and longest accessible complex built in the Owl Mountains.
Work began in mid-1943. A huge system of concrete corridors, fortifications and halls was created here. The purpose of the work was kept secret. In the opinion of some, it was supposed to be the secret residence of Adolf Hitler. Others claim that halls for underground arms factories were built here, where secret weapons were to be produced. Work here was carried out by workers and prisoners from the Gross-Rosen concentration camp. The above-ground part of the Osówka complex represents the external infrastructure of the underground facility. The degree of advancement of the work carried out here puts these objects in the first place in terms of the most completed above-ground objects of the “Riese” enterprise (German fig) in the Owl Mountains. Do not miss the opportunity to see the remains of the last project of the Third Reich, which is still shrouded in mystery.
