The year is 1943 and Germany is carrying out extensive construction work in the Owl Mountains region under the common code name “Riese” (Giant). The construction was never completed and a number of underground complexes and buildings above ground are still shrouded in great mystery as to what their purpose was. The uniqueness of these objects has attracted a large number of researchers and adventurers to the Lower Silesia region. Today, you can safely recognize “Riese” from at least some of the routes.
