Lookout tower Velká Čantoryje

cities Coin no. 239

The construction of the lookout tower and the log cabin with refreshments in Velká Čantoria was carried out in the period from July to October 2002. The construction of the lookout tower itself was preceded by the creation of projects from September 2001 and the production of this steel, galvanized structure by the Engineering Production Group of Třinec Ironworks in cooperation with the designer of this unconventional building in our region. The opening ceremony was performed by the godfather of this lookout tower, the captain of the Třinec hockey players Richard Král on 23.11.2002. This opening was attended by all the companies that participated in this construction.
The intention of the investors, Jiří and Jan Lubojacký, was to make this picturesque eastern part of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains more attractive, to offer tourists an unconventional view of three countries in the immediate vicinity of the village of Nýdek. The lookout tower itself is located on the border of the state border between the Czech Republic and Poland. The construction created a tourist area, which was missing on this peak.
