In the picturesque surroundings of the beautiful nature of the lower Liptov region, there is the Krajinka Sheep Farm, just less than 2 km from Ružomberok. The sheep farm was founded in 1983 for the breeding of 1000 sheep and its original character and years of proven sheep farming traditions can still be found here today. Up close you can see sheep breeding, including their grazing, milking and processing of sheep’s milk in a traditional manual way.
The stylish restaurant is rarely located in the stable so that you have the opportunity to look into the life of sheep and lambs through a large glass wall. The menu is made up of traditional Slovak dishes using local ingredients and products: sheep cheese, bryndza, oštiepok. Meat specialties are mainly made of lamb and mutton. The crown of the dishes is the serving of chilled, one hundred percent delicious žinčica.
You can buy local products right on site. You will also find a home bakery here, from which you can smell the smell of yeast cakes and bread from a distance. Pets are very popular with children, as they walk freely around the area.
