Veľký Kriváň – Malá Fatra

Commemorative coins Coin no. 034
Velký Kriváň (1,708.7 m above sea level) is the highest mountain in the Malá Fatra Mountains. It is located on the main ridge of the Kriváň part of the Malá Fatra, which bears its name after him. This meadow hill with a peak above the upper border of the mountain pine distribution is an excellent vantage point with a circular view. It is adjacent to the hills of Pekelník (1,609 m above sea level) and Chleb (1,645.6 m above sea level), from which it is separated by the saddles of Bublen (1,610 m above sea level) and Snilovské sedlo (1,524 m above sea level). The southern, eastern and western slopes of Velký Kriváň are avalanche prone.
