The chateau is mainly associated with the more than four-hundred-year-old presence and activity of the ancient aristocratic family of Kounic. The construction of the chateau according to the plans of D. Martinelli, later modified by the architect Velmaggi and the builder Petruzzi, lasted more than half a century, from the end of the nineties of the 17th century to the sixties of the 18th century. The most interesting space of the chateau is the central oval social hall. In addition to the spatial and acoustic uniqueness of this hall, the fresco painting by the Viennese creator Josef Pichler, the author of the frescoes, is particularly interesting. The chateau installation itself consists of a picture gallery in period interiors, works that were once part of the once very rich Kounic collections of fine art of the 17th and 18th centuries. When visiting the Slavkov Chateau, you will be enchanted by the magnificent exterior and the representativeness of the seat of an important family. After the last addition of the interiors in 2004, the chateau looks really great.
