The zoo is located in the northwestern part of Hodonín, in a nice floodplain forest. It covers more than 7 hectares of park and water area. The original “Zoo” from 1975 has become a modern Zoo, and it has been proud of this status since 1992. Currently, over 500 pieces of Czech and exotic game are bred here in more than 140 species. The zoo breeds over 70 endangered species of world fauna. This contributes to the basic mission of zoos – the protection of endangered animal species. From rare animal species, visitors can see chimpanzees, lemurs, clawed monkeys, gibbons, a collection of exotic birds, the Ussuri tiger, zebras, camels, sharks and many others.
