The Wroclaw Zoo was founded in 1865. Between 1936 and 1939 it was reconstructed and a pavilion with baboons, bears and antelopes was built here. The Wroclaw Zoo was destroyed by tragic events in 1945 and had its historic opening on 18.07.1948.
The Wroclaw Zoo presents 163 mammals in 142 species and a collection of 1520 birds in 160 species. There are also 1,723 reptiles in 128 species and 112 amphibians in 27 species. There is also an aquarium with large fish, where 108 species of fish are located in 2,577 animals. The most interesting specimens include camels, antelopes, elephants, primates, seals, zebras, giraffes and bears. In aviaries with birds, the Wroclaw Zoo hides, for example, parrots, ostriches, pelicans and cutthroats. Of the amphibians, the greatest pride of the zoo is the crocodile pavilion and the terrarium with turtles. Wroclaw Zoo offers its visitors an insight into the world of invertebrates, thanks to an interesting section of butterflies and scorpions. A huge aquarium representing many species of fish is breathtaking.
There are several restaurants and fast food outlets in the area of the Wroclaw Zoo.
